I had to do something similar to this when I was in hospital for a procedure
(in 2003). To help others, I agreed to participate in a study, and this is
what they did. They had wires attached to my head, and saw graphically how I
was processing thoughts, etc. For what it's worth this was an extremely fun
procedure which is not really what most people would find fun; I was wide
awake and making jokes too! One time the doctor had asked me how I was doing
and the nurse had just walked into the OR and I replied 'Pretty good for a
guy with two holes in his head!' (true to my humour)! I was so good (as in
perfect) with their study that they kept me in for many more hours. I have
always hated anaesthesia so whenever it's possible to not have it I opt for
it (though it's amazing how many medical professionals out there challenge me
on this and where I want a needle for e.g. a blood draw etc. and I have even
had to argue with them over it!); when it's not possible to not have
anaesthesia I go for the twilight instead of being completely under. Only if
I have to be put under will I agree to it though why I have this issue I do
not know.

Anyway I have always enjoyed little games like this, and so I decided to write
a similar game. Interestingly enough, I got $200 for participating in in the
study. In fact for me it was just playing another video game like when I was a
child and I think that that's one of the reasons that I did so well.

There are other reasons of course; I have very fast reflexes, I am very very
observant so much so in fact that if someone moves something of mine by even a
millimetre I know it (I have always been this way and I cannot explain it; I
just feel it upon first seeing it despite the fact I do not keep conscious
track of where my things are) for a couple examples.
